When is Gangaur Festival -

Gangaur festival is celebrated for 16 days starting from Holi till the third of Chait month.Gangaur festival is celebrated on the third day of Shukla Paksha of Chait month. This year Gangaur festival will be celebrated on 31st March. The time for Gangaur worship will start from 9:11 am and will end on 1st April at 5:42 am.

Where is Gangaur Festival Celebrated-

 Gangor is a Hindu festival which is celebrated in the areas of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Brij and Bundelkhand of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is also celebrated with great pomp in some parts of Gujarat and West Bengal.

Gangaur festival is celebrated with great pomp in Jaipur, Rajasthan.  In Jaipur, the Shiv Parvati procession is carried out with great pomp with horses and elephants. This is a very famous and big festival of Rajasthan.

In this festival, women apply mehndi on their hands and this process is continued till the final day.

Many dishes are also made in the festival of Gangaur, out of which Guna is the most important dish. Lord Shiva and Parvati are worshipped with Guna. Apart from this, Ghevar Malpua and Puri Sabzi are also made in the festival of Gangaur.

How Is Gangaur Celebrate -

In the Gangaur Puja, women offer fruits, flowers, clothes and makeup items to Goddess Parvati and Durga. The whole day or festival is celebrated with great pomp and show. Some songs are sung during the Puja. One of them is a famous song which is sung during puja. In this festival, the worship is performed with a count of 16 and 32 times.
